Is your family all about tacos? Mine certainly is! Not only does my family of two (plus cat) love tacos, but this taco craziness started when I was a kid as well.
My mom would make them normally when my Dad wasn't home. Fortunately, my father travelled a lot for work which meant we had tacos quite a bit. I never got sick of them and would even create a taco salad for the following day!
Some of my most fond memories are actually from us eating tacos with Opa at his apartment! His tacos would always spill out of the tortilla because he would over fill them. We would all be sitting at his little table in the kitchen and he would always comment how he would lose all the contents. Then my mom would remind him not to fill his taco up too much, but that wouldn't ever help.
Such great memories.
In my household, tacos are also enjoyed a lot. Recently, the man of the house requested for some crunch wraps. I was more than happy to do this. So, I got all the basic taco ingredients ,but also bought large tortillas as well as hard shells and I tried to create magic.
The first few were a (tasty) flop, but the last few were almost professionally done.
What I would suggest is that you get all your favourite taco ingredients and make a traditional soft taco, just shape it differently.
Ours are filled with some pretty basic, but delicious ingredients. Our go-to ingredients are as follows:
Ground meat of choice
chopped lettuce
chopped tomatoes
shredded cheddar cheese
sour cream
salsa
cubed avocado or homemade guacamole
However, whatever your favourite thing to find in a taco is, add it!
So, what even is a crunch wrap? It one of the most popular products ever made at Taco Bell.
I have actually never been to Taco Bell myself, but when the crunch wrap supreme first came out in 2005, I saw commercials on TV. I recall seeing commercials on it on our American TV channels when we were living here as a family. Then later when I was in my late teens/early 20's, I tried making one and enjoyed it a lot.

How to make a crunch wrap? Follow the following steps and hopefully you'll find yourself enjoying a crunch wrap yourself!
In a large skillet, brown your ground meat and season with taco seasoning of your choice. Set aside.
Turn on your oven to 350F to cook your hard taco shells. You'll just need to cook them for about 10 minutes.
Find your large frying pan and heat it up some olive oil at a medium temperature.
On a large plate, pull out your large tortilla and add a dollop of salsa, spread it in a small circle in the centre of the tortilla, then top with sour cream. Now, add cheddar cheese to the sour cream in the centre of your tortilla.
Place a small amount of ground meat (approx. 1 Tablespoon) to the cheese. Adding it to the cheese will allow your cheese to melt some.
Add your vegetables of choice and then break your taco shells in half and cover your small pile of taco filling.
Now comes the tricky part: fold each edge of your soft tortilla over the shell. Try to hold down each fold so that they are in place.
Slide your disc shaped wrap onto the heated frying pan, folded side down. Allow to fry on that side for 3-5 minutes and then flip carefully. Be careful not to lose all the contents of your crunch wrap.
Fry the other side until golden brown or to your liking.
Place on your plate and enjoy!

You can slice the wrap in half or eat it whole. When you eat it whole, there should be little to no mess. Just remember not to over stuff it like my Opa did all those years ago.
Now you should be able to make your very own crunch wraps!
You could potentially fill your crunch wrap with refried beans as well and instead put some salsa and sour cream on the side for dipping options.
The options are truly endless!
I hope you enjoy your crunch wrap as much as these two young men seem to be in this GIF!
Have a great day!
